Kremlin confirms Russia-Ukraine talks in Abu Dhabi next week

aftenposten.no (Swedish) —

Kremlin confirmed Tuesday that Russia and Ukraine will hold negotiations in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11, with the United States serving as mediator. Russia's chief negotiator will be Vladimir Medinsky, an adviser to President Vladimir Putin. Topics include security guarantees and de-escalation, with talks occurring at the official level. US envoy Steve Witkoff said American negotiators will meet European and NATO representatives in Brussels beforehand. The Kremlin also plans a trilateral call between Putin, Trump, and Xi in November. Previous US-mediated peace talks took place in February, following Witkoff's October meetings with Ukrainian and Russian leaders in Oslo and St. Petersburg.
