Arakhamia and Lubinets to Meet Melania Trump on Oleshky Ceasefire
Ukrainian officials David Arakhamia and Dmytro Lubinets will meet with US First Lady Melania Trump at the White House to discuss a ceasefire regime in Oleshky, according to RBC-Ukraine sources. The meeting follows her successful mediation of a local truce in the occupied Kherson region town. Melania Trump will make an official statement on the Oleshky ceasefire on Thursday, November 5, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time outside the White House. The Ukrainian delegation includes Arakhamia and Lubinets, while Russia will be represented by Putin's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev and ombudsman Yana Lantratova. The humanitarian crisis in Oleshky began in early 2026 when mined roads and drone attacks blocked food deliveries to about 6,000 remaining civilians. A ceasefire from October 27 to November 1 allowed aid delivery and evacuation of over 500 residents, with Pope Leo XIV also involved in mediation efforts.
