US hosts Ukraine-Russia talks in Abu Dhabi to end war before winter
The United States will host delegations from Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11 to negotiate ending the war, post-war security agreements, and de-escalation, according to US envoy Steve Witkoff. The talks aim for a breakthrough before winter, with Witkoff and senior negotiator Jared Kushner representing the US. Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to the new round after meeting Witkoff in St. Petersburg two weeks ago. US negotiators will also hold working-level meetings in Brussels this week with France, Germany, Britain, the EU, and NATO to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine and reconstruction support. Ukraine and Russia remain far apart on terms, though President Donald Trump has increased pressure on Kyiv for a deal.
