US envoy announces new trilateral talks with Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi

US-mediated peace talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the US are scheduled for next week in Abu Dhabi, according to US envoy Steve Witkoff. The trilateral meeting marks the first such talks since February. The working-level negotiations on Tuesday and Wednesday will focus on post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian aid, and next steps toward peace. Witkoff also announced separate US meetings this week with European and NATO representatives in Brussels. Russian President Vladimir Putin recently expressed readiness to resume trilateral contacts after speaking with Witkoff. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has voiced hope that the EU will also participate in the negotiations.
