Ukraine-Russia Peace Talks to Resume in Abu Dhabi Next Week
Russian and Ukrainian delegates will meet in Abu Dhabi next week for trilateral talks mediated by the United States, the Kremlin confirmed Tuesday, marking the first such negotiations since February. The talks aim to advance efforts toward ending the war. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the talks will occur next Tuesday and Wednesday, with presidential adviser Vladimir Medinsky leading the Russian delegation. White House envoy Steve Witkoff said the discussions will focus on post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian efforts, and next steps toward peace. The talks follow Witkoff's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin last month, which restarted negotiations. Ukraine and Russia remain far apart on territorial issues and security guarantees, with Putin demanding Ukraine cede control of the Donetsk region and Zelensky resisting land concessions.
