Melania Trump to Host Ukraine and Russia Talks at White House

The White House announced that Trump personally initiated the diplomatic engagement, calling the ceasefire an unprecedented achievement. The truce began October 29, allowing humanitarian aid delivery and evacuation of nearly 800 civilians through a safe corridor. The ceasefire ended November 1, with explosions reported in Kherson shortly after. Russian forces reportedly used the pause to reinforce positions, rotate units, and expand logistics, while up to two-thirds of residents chose to remain in the city.
