US to mediate Russia-Ukraine talks in Abu Dhabi next week, Witkoff says
The United States will mediate trilateral talks between Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11, US envoy Steve Witkoff announced Monday, aiming to end the war and address post-war security agreements. The discussions will cover de-escalation, humanitarian measures, and ending the conflict, with Witkoff and Jared Kushner expected to represent the US. Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to the talks after meeting Witkoff in St Petersburg two weeks ago. US negotiators will also meet this week in Brussels with European and NATO representatives to discuss Ukraine's security guarantees and reconstruction support. Ukraine and Russia remain far apart on peace terms, though President Trump has intensified pressure on Ukraine to reach an agreement.
