Iran’s Pezeshkian seeks to revive June US deal after vowing not to bend

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Friday his country wants to revive the June memorandum of understanding with the US, days after vowing not to bend to Washington. Pezeshkian welcomed China's support for reviving the agreement, posting on X that Iran shares this approach. The June deal, intended to lay groundwork for a full peace deal, quickly unravelled after US and Israeli attacks on Iran in late February. Diplomatic efforts have faltered for months. Pezeshkian told the UN Wednesday Iran would not "bend at the knee," but said Thursday the war's end depends on Washington. Iranian and US officials met at the General Assembly without a breakthrough.
