Iran proposes seven-day plan to US for reopening Strait of Hormuz

Iran has proposed a seven-day plan to the United States for reopening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. He stated the proposal was conveyed via Qatar and that navigation could resume within a week if conditions are met. Araghchi made the remarks at the United Nations, saying the choice now lies with Washington. He stressed that Iran rejects coercion, threats, or intimidation and will not relinquish its sovereign rights under pressure. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical waterway for global oil shipments. The proposal follows recent tensions over the strait's status, with Iran signaling willingness to restore normal traffic while maintaining its position against external pressure.
