Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the United States must decide whether to end the war with Iran, as Tehran does not wish to continue fighting, in a Fox News interview aired Thursday. Pezeshkian, speaking from the UN in New York, said Iran is ready to strike a deal with US President Donald Trump but blamed Israel for instigating the conflict. He noted talks between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US envoy Steve Witkoff yielded no breakthrough. Pezeshkian denied that Yemen's Houthi militants take direction from Tehran, despite US and Saudi accusations of Iranian backing. Saudi Arabia intercepted Houthi missiles Thursday as the group's naval blockade on the kingdom disrupted oil exports and raised energy prices.
