Iran Rules Out Nuclear Concessions Even if US Reopens Strait of Hormuz

Iran has stated it will make no concessions regarding its nuclear program, even if the US accepts Tehran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a senior Iranian official told Reuters on Friday. The official, speaking anonymously, said the strategic waterway will remain closed until the US meets all of Iran's conditions. These include ending hostilities on all fronts within seven days, lifting the blockade on Iranian ports and oil sanctions, and releasing frozen Iranian assets, according to Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The proposal was conveyed to the US amid recent Middle East escalation following seven months of US-Iran war, with Yemen's Houthi rebels launching missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia.
