Iran sends US seven-day plan to reopen Strait of Hormuz shipping

Iran has transmitted a seven-day plan to the United States via Qatar to restore navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Araghchi stated that if necessary conditions are met, the strait would reopen and normal shipping resume within seven days. The period begins once the US accepts the plan, with US actions expected to take four to five days, followed by the strait's opening on day six and negotiations on day seven. The foreign minister noted the required US actions are not new and are already outlined in a memorandum of understanding. He said the choice now rests with the United States.
