UAE sent Flydubai crew list to Israel before Omani co-pilot's attack
The UAE shared the Flydubai crew list with Israeli authorities before the flight, and the Omani co-pilot who attempted a terror attack received clearance, according to reports. The incident has raised questions about how he passed security checks. The co-pilot, identified as Hammam al-Hammami, attacked Indian Captain Smit Machchhar with a crash axe and intended to crash the plane into a Tel Aviv skyscraper. The captain opened the cockpit door despite being stabbed, allowing passengers to overpower the attacker. Israeli agencies dispute responsibility for checking the passenger list, with Shin Bet citing the Transportation Ministry and the Ministry denying receipt. The co-pilot had visited Ben Gurion Airport several times since joining Flydubai and was previously banned by Oman from flying.
