Copilot accused of hijacking Flydubai flight plotted Tel Aviv attack
A copilot accused of attempting to hijack a Flydubai flight allegedly planned to crash the plane into Tel Aviv's airport, according to Israeli sources cited by the Daily Mail, who say he revealed the plot during interrogation. Al-Hammami reportedly planned the hijacking before joining Flydubai, scouting Ben-Gurion Airport multiple times and considering targets including the Azrieli towers. He allegedly abandoned an earlier attempt in July due to a friend being on board. The suspect is accused of attacking the captain with an axe during flight FZ1073, carrying 182 people from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The plane lost 14,000 feet in 29 seconds before passengers subdued him, forcing an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
