Flydubai co-pilot admits planning Tel Aviv skyscraper or Ben-Gurion Airport attack
A Flydubai co-pilot, Hamam al-Hammami, accused of attempting to hijack and crash a plane, told investigators he had two attack targets: a Tel Aviv skyscraper and Ben-Gurion Airport, according to The Jerusalem Post. Al-Hammami stated he planned the operation before joining the airline, with his dream being to crash into Ben-Gurion Airport. He allegedly scouted the airport during work visits, delaying the attack until late September due to close ties with a crew member. Israeli authorities believe he acted alone, not on terrorist orders. The September 30 Boeing 737 flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv with about 180 passengers sent a hijack signal over Saudi Arabia and made an emergency landing in Tabuk. Israel's prime minister said the pilot deliberately sought to cause a disaster, but the plane was saved by off-duty pilots who intervened.
