Tusk says pro-Russian forces exploit Poland tribunal crisis to weaken democracy
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that pro-Russian forces are exploiting the conflict over Poland's Constitutional Tribunal to weaken Polish democracy, accusing President Karol Nawrocki and the PiS party of blocking reforms. Tusk claimed these forces have support from Russian internet bots and cited compliments from Dmitry Medvedev, who called the situation a coup. He stressed Poland must not surrender its democratic independence and rule of law. Former PM Mateusz Morawiecki has proposed a no-confidence vote against Tusk's government, suggesting a technical cabinet until elections in autumn 2027. The crisis began October 30 when police blocked the tribunal's suspended head from entering the building.
