Polish PM Tusk accuses Russian bots of backing opposition

ua.korrespondent.net (Ukrainian) —

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused a "Russian bot army" of supporting politicians seeking to destroy democracy and the rule of law in Poland, linking the alleged interference to the ongoing conflict over the Constitutional Tribunal. Tusk blamed the opposition Law and Justice party (PiS), as well as current and former presidents Karol Nawrocki and Andrzej Duda, for undermining judicial independence. He provided no specific evidence or account names for the alleged bot campaign. The political crisis escalated on October 30 when police blocked the tribunal building and its leadership was suspended. Tusk also cited Russian official Dmitry Medvedev's comments calling the events a "constitutional coup."
