Poland's opposition seeks no-confidence vote against Tusk's government
Poland's opposition, led by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, is demanding a vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government and proposing the formation of a new technical cabinet. Morawiecki, head of the "Development Plus" grouping, proposed a technical government under Marek Jurek to rule until new parliamentary elections. He also called for resetting the Constitutional Tribunal, citing support from various political forces, and harshly criticized the current coalition's rule as catastrophic. The demand follows an escalation on October 30 in Warsaw over the Constitutional Tribunal, when police blocked the building and clashes erupted. On October 31, President Karol Nawrocki forcibly entered the tribunal building, which is controlled by police and judges selected by the current Sejm.
