Poland's Tusk blames pro-Russian forces for political crisis

ua.korrespondent.net (Ukrainian) —

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused pro-Russian forces of seeking to weaken Polish democracy amid a political crisis over the Constitutional Tribunal. He blamed President Karol Nawrocki and the PiS party for blocking reforms. Tusk stated that politicians and organizations aiming to destroy democracy and the rule of law receive support from abroad, including Russian sympathizers and internet bot armies. He emphasized Poland must not surrender its democratic independence and legal principles. The crisis escalated on October 30 when police blocked the Tribunal building and suspended its leadership. Nawrocki cut short a trip to Senegal and forced his way into the building on October 31.
