ansa.it (Italian) —

An Omani co-pilot intended to crash a FlyDubai flight into Israel's Ben Gurion Airport after receiving landing clearance, according to reports from Channel 12. The plot was revealed during interrogations underway in the United Arab Emirates. The suspect, Hamam al-Hammami, had landed at Ben Gurion Airport multiple times for work, most recently in June and July, and had been planning the attack for months. During a June visit, he reportedly gathered intelligence on the intended crash site. Al-Hammami had originally planned to carry out the attack in July but called it off at the last moment because he was friends with a crew member. The information emerged from his ongoing interrogation in the UAE.
