US disables cargo ship in Gulf of Oman after crew ignores Iran blockade warnings

moneycontrol.com —

US forces disabled a commercial cargo vessel in the Gulf of Oman on November 7 after its crew allegedly ignored warnings to comply with a naval blockade against Iran, according to US Central Command. The St Kitts-flagged M/V Huda was struck by precision-guided munitions from a US aircraft after attempting to leave regional waters following a port call in Iran. CENTCOM said crew members were directed to vacate targeted sections before the strike disabled the ship's stern. Since July, 147 commercial vessels have complied with US instructions, while five refusing ships have been disabled. CENTCOM also reported destroying 10 Iranian oil tankers and announced Task Force Iron Gate to restrict Iran's overland supply networks.
