Iran's IRGC lifts ballistic missile range restrictions

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the removal of its self-imposed 2,000-kilometer range limit on ballistic missiles, according to the Associated Press. The announcement was made by IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi at a Tehran press conference, who stated "for us, this restriction is lifted." It follows recent warnings from Iran's Supreme Leader that any threat from the US or Israel would face an unrestricted response. Currently, no evidence suggests Iran possesses missiles exceeding 2,000 kilometers in range. However, US officials claim technologies from Iran's space program could potentially be adapted for intercontinental ballistic missile development.
