Iran lifts range limits on its ballistic missiles
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has lifted the voluntary 2,000-kilometer range limit on its ballistic missiles, a spokesman announced on November 7. The decision was justified as necessary for conducting "asymmetric warfare." Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi stated the previous self-imposed restriction no longer applies and that Iran intends to demonstrate its military capabilities in practice. The move follows Iranian threats of retaliation against the US and Israel without geographical limits. The 2,000-kilometer range previously allowed Iranian missiles to reach much of the Middle East, including the Arabian Peninsula and Levant. This announcement comes after US strikes on Iran's air defense systems and President Trump's recent threats of "total destruction" against Iran.
