Senator Gomes names Tarcísio as undisputed right-wing leader, avoids Flávio speculation
Senator Eduardo Gomes, former leader of the Bolsonaro government, declined to speculate on Flávio Bolsonaro's political future and instead named São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas as an undisputed leader of the right-wing field. In an interview with GLOBO, Gomes emphasized the central role of governors, especially the six elected under the PL banner, in reorganizing the opposition after Flávio's defeat to Lula. He praised Tarcísio's political strength, noting his re-election and electoral success, but said it is too early to judge Flávio's next steps. Gomes also stated the PL has not discussed supporting Davi Alcolumbre for Senate president, with internal meetings scheduled for next week. He acknowledged potential for dialogue with the Lula government on state matters, citing past cooperation on fiscal and sanitation legislation.
