Brazil summons Argentina envoy over Bolsonaro's flight to US
Brazil has summoned Argentina's top diplomat to answer questions about Flavio Bolsonaro, who fled to Argentina and then the US after losing Sunday's presidential election, potentially straining relations between Presidents Lula and Milei. Brazil's Foreign Ministry called in Argentina's charge d'affaires Maria Emilia Cortes on Thursday, though Argentina's Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno denied receiving a formal request. Bolsonaro was ordered to remain in Brazil as part of a money-laundering investigation linked to the Banco Master scandal. Bolsonaro, who refused to concede and claimed electoral malfeasance, arrived in Miami on Wednesday and declared himself "legitimate president-elect." He thanked Milei for assistance, with a spokesperson calling the journey a rescue from "communism." Trump has also suggested the election was "rigged."
