Flavio Bolsonaro discusses flight and possible early elections
Defeated presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro addressed the possibility of new elections before 2030 and justified his flight to the United States after Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva won the majority of votes. He shared a video on social media Friday night. Bolsonaro, who proclaimed himself the "true elected president" without evidence, thanked supporters and claimed Brazil lives under a "regime of persecution." He was summoned by federal police to deliver documents but left the country before the deadline. The senator visited his father Jair Bolsonaro, under house arrest for an alleged coup attempt, before departing. Several family members won congressional seats in 2026, including brother Carlos and stepmother Michelle as senators.
