Denmark warns: Russian invasion of NATO country cannot be ruled out

Denmark's intelligence service (FE) warns that a Russian invasion of a NATO country is unlikely but can no longer be ruled out, while the security service PET reports increased Russian espionage, sabotage, and influence campaigns. Denmark has raised its threat level for cyberattacks from medium to high. FE chief Thomas Ahrenkiel stated there are no signs of a full-scale invasion, but the new assessment marks a shift. Russia is expected to intensify hybrid warfare in coming months, potentially targeting critical infrastructure. PET says threats primarily target defense industries and Ukraine support efforts, with hybrid attacks described as "the new normal." Defense Minister Jeppe Bruus calls the situation the most serious since the Cold War, though no imminent attack on Denmark is indicated. NATO chief Mark Rutte says the best defense is increased support for Ukraine.
