Denmark raises cyber threat level, warns Russian invasion of NATO 'can no longer be ruled out'

Denmark's military intelligence service (FE) has raised its threat level for cyberattacks from medium to high, warning that while a Russian invasion of a NATO country remains unlikely, it can no longer be ruled out. FE chief Thomas Ahrenkiel stated there are no signs of an imminent full-scale invasion, but the shift in assessment is new. The agency expects Russia to intensify hybrid warfare, including cyberattacks and sabotage, in the coming months. Defense Minister Jeppe Bruus called the situation the most serious since the Cold War's end. FE estimates Russia would need at least six months to prepare an invasion, and no attack on Denmark is considered imminent.
