UN report: Israel continues genocide in Gaza despite ceasefire
A UN-mandated panel of independent experts accused Israel on Monday of continuing to commit acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip, despite the ceasefire agreement signed in October 2025. The report also alleged Israeli forces committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, including torture and sexual violence. The report stated Israel continues genocidal acts with the intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza, noting Israeli-controlled territory expanded from 53% to at least 60% of the enclave since the ceasefire. It documented at least 196 Palestinian deaths from Israeli fire during the period, including women and children, and detailed six cases of sexual assault against detainees at the Sde Teiman military prison. The panel highlighted the killings of Palestinian children, including infants, by sniper fire and drones, with autopsies suggesting targeted rather than random shootings. The experts criticized Israel for labeling dead children as "suspects," shifting blame onto victims, and noted children continued to die after the ceasefire while collecting firewood near the "yellow line."
