UN report accuses Israel of crimes against humanity in West Bank
A UN-mandated commission has reported that Israel committed crimes against humanity, including "extermination," torture, and sexual violence, in the occupied West Bank, marking a significant international condemnation. The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry released its findings on Monday, accusing Israeli authorities of widespread and systematic attacks against civilians, including persecution based on nationality and ethnicity. Israel rejected the report as a misinformation campaign to demonize the state. The report follows Israel's September 2025 genocide finding in Gaza and comes amid an ongoing Israeli military clampdown in Hebron, which the UN Human Rights Commissioner warned raises serious concerns of ethnic cleansing. Over 1,143 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since October 2023.
