Palestinian in Hebron vows to return home despite forced displacement
Nearly 2,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from Hebron in the occupied West Bank during an Israeli military operation, following an armed attack that killed two Israeli soldiers. In the Deir al-Baha neighborhood, the Israeli army has barricaded the area and threatened journalists and residents. Hijazi Tamimi, an elderly Palestinian, attempted to return to his army-occupied home for medication, saying he was ready to dig a tunnel to get back. He was later found unconscious and hospitalized, alleging soldiers beat him. Tamimi insists residents will not leave their land, even if reduced to a pile of dirt. Meanwhile, Palestinians in the hospital expressed little hope that upcoming Israeli elections will change their situation.
