Israeli forces arrest dozens in major West Bank counterterrorism operation
Israeli forces launched a major counterterrorism operation in Hebron, West Bank, following a shooting that killed two soldiers, resulting in dozens of arrests and the evacuation of hundreds of families. The military says the operation will last several days. Around 250 families, about 2,200 people, were forced from their homes in Hebron and nearby Halhul, which are under complete military封锁. The Israeli military searched 200 houses, found no weapons, and detained about 70 people, with ten suspects still held. Five Italian activists detained on Thursday have returned to Italy and are reported to be in good condition. Palestinian officials condemned the operation as collective punishment, while hundreds of foreign volunteers have arrived to assist with olive harvesting amid reports of settler attacks.
