IDF Imposes West Bank Closure for Palestinians on Election Day
The Israeli military announced Sunday that the government approved a general closure of the West Bank for Tuesday's Election Day, banning Palestinian workers from entering or exiting the territory and closing all land crossings. The closure also restricts Palestinian workers from entering Israeli settlements in the West Bank on Sunday and Monday, with exceptions only for industrial zones and a limited number of other approved areas ahead of the vote. Separately, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu summoned Police Commissioner Danny Levy on Saturday to discuss election readiness, after Levy refused a similar meeting with National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, citing concerns over Ben-Gvir's candidacy and potential political exploitation of police preparations.
