Israeli forces turn Hebron homes into military posts after displacing residents
Israeli forces have converted Palestinian homes in Hebron into military barracks and observation posts after forcing residents to leave, amid an ongoing military operation in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. The takeover occurred in the Khallat Manna and Dahiyat al-Zaytoun areas, following a lockdown imposed after two armed Palestinians allegedly attacked an Israeli army base on Friday, killing two soldiers. At least 47 Palestinians have been detained, and 293 families, about 2,200 people, displaced, including infants, pregnant women, and elderly residents. Separately, Israeli settlers have begun establishing two new outposts on Palestinian-owned land in Yatta, south of Hebron, with bulldozers and infrastructure work underway. Israeli forces also continued closing roads near Bethlehem for a third consecutive day on Sunday.
