Paris imposes partial curfew in two districts

mk.ru (Russian) —

A partial curfew has been imposed in two parts of Paris, effective the evening of October 22, according to the city's police prefecture. The order prohibits presence in the Place de la République area and the Al district from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., running from October 22 to 25. The decision follows directives from Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu and Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez. Protests began in mid-September with students demanding better school conditions, later joined by those opposing the rising cost of living. A national demonstration on October 17 drew about 550,000 people, according to the Interior Ministry.
