France Bans Demonstrations in Marseille, Lyon, Nice, and Le Havre
All demonstrations have been banned in the French city of Marseille, according to the newspaper La Provence, as reported by APA. A nighttime curfew will also be in effect from 23:00 to 05:00 local time on Saturday and Sunday nights. The ban on demonstrations has also been introduced in the French cities of Le Havre, Lyon, and Nice. In Paris, only a pre-approved trade union action is permitted, with its route agreed upon in advance. Additionally, the transport of protective equipment and fuel will be prohibited on October 24. These measures follow the October 17 demonstrations against rising fuel prices and declining purchasing power, which escalated into mass unrest and clashes with police in several cities across France.
