He has made at least six joint public appearances with Trump, including official visits to the UK, Saudi Arabia, and China, and was added to the China delegation at the last minute in May 2026. Huang advocates for rapid U.S. AI advancement, directly countering demands from Nvidia clients like OpenAI and Anthropic for mandatory safety guardrails. During a recent summit, he put a call from Trump on speakerphone, where the president dismissed AI infrastructure panic as a “hoax.”
