The Kremlin has contradicted US President Donald Trump's claim of an imminent phone call with Vladimir Putin regarding the suspected plague case in Siberia, stating no such conversation has been scheduled. Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said Moscow and Washington have not agreed on a call, and its timing remains unclear. Trump had announced he had a date for a phone call that would occur very soon. According to the Kremlin, the two presidents have held five calls this year, the last on September 8, and a conversation could be arranged quickly if an initiative is presented. The 28-year-old scientist died Friday in a hospital near Irkutsk, but Russian authorities say her death was not caused by a plague pathogen, citing pneumonia of unknown origin. The WHO has requested information from Russia about a possible additional pneumonia death in the region.
