Kremlin denies US request on Siberian lab worker death as WHO seeks details

sudinfo.be (French) —

The Kremlin said Wednesday it has "no information" about a US request for clarification following the suspicious death of a lab worker in Siberia, amid WHO demands for details on a possible second case. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitri Peskov stated he lacked information on the American request, adding that Moscow had already informed the WHO on the matter. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has called for clarity on media reports of a second employee with pneumonia of unknown origin. Peskov urged reliance only on statements from Russia's public health agency, Rospotrebnadzor, asserting that the "vast majority" of media reports on the case were "false."
