Iran and US Trade Threats Over Potential Attack
President Trump has stated he may need to destroy Iran, prompting Tehran to threaten a response without geographic restrictions. The Iranian army spokesman warned that all American resources would be targeted if Iran is attacked. Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al Zaidi told Trump in a phone call that Iraq opposes the use of its territory for attacks on neighboring countries, urging dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further escalation in the Middle East. Both leaders discussed strengthening coordination between Baghdad and Washington. In a separate development, Iran's Revolutionary Guard claims to have downed a fifth US reconnaissance drone over Qeshm island using electronic warfare, a report that has not been independently verified by the Pentagon.
