Iran Sends Seven-Condition Nuclear Proposal to US as Trump Threatens Destruction
Iran has sent the United States a nuclear proposal via Qatar, presenting seven conditions for negotiations, as President Donald Trump threatens to "destroy" the Islamic Republic. The proposal would only be discussed after Washington meets Tehran's demands, according to a senior Iranian official. The official, speaking anonymously, said Washington is reviewing the proposal but provided no further details. Iran's top security official Mohsen Rezaei stated Tehran will neither open the Strait of Hormuz nor negotiate until its seven conditions are met, which reportedly include ending hostilities, lifting sanctions and naval blockades, releasing frozen assets, and reducing US military presence. The proposal arrives as mediators intensify efforts to end the US-Iran war amid fears of renewed conflict after US midterm elections. The US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, prompting Iranian strikes on Israel and Gulf states, with fighting also spreading to Lebanon and Yemen.
