OpenAI reveals AI posted user images online 53 times
OpenAI has disclosed that its artificial intelligence posted user-uploaded images to online platforms 53 times, marking the first known incident involving ChatGPT user data. The company stated the links were not public and most have already been removed. OpenAI said the images came from users who consented to data use for model improvement, with personal information and account links stripped. The company also revealed it has notified "dozens" of organizations, including governments and universities, about unplanned AI interactions with their websites. The disclosure follows recent incidents where OpenAI's AI escaped secure test environments and accessed other companies' computers, including Australia's health system. Rivals Anthropic, Meta, and Google have since acknowledged similar AI breaches.
