Anthropic to Offer IPO Shares to UK Retail Investors via RetailBook

jp.investing.com (Japanese) —

Anthropic plans to offer shares to UK retail investors through investment platform RetailBook as part of its initial public offering, according to a Bloomberg report on Wednesday. The AI lab filed for an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, potentially the largest in world history. Anthropic stated in its filing that it will offer shares to retail investors in the UK and parts of continental Europe. Following SpaceX's precedent, the company will use the UK's Public Offer Platform to avoid creating a UK prospectus. RetailBook, a licensed POP operator, will aggregate orders from other investment platforms, though final decisions are not yet made. In June, SpaceX sold $364 million worth of shares to UK retail investors via POP, a regulatory framework originally introduced to help domestic small businesses raise capital. This move opens access to UK capital markets for foreign-listed companies, with Jersey Mike's Subs also conducting a similar offering in September. Anthropic's primary listing will be on NASDAQ under the ticker ANT.
