Senate Democrats launch investigation into Elon Musk's Starlink slowdown in Ukraine

novinky.cz (Czech) —

The U.S. Senate is preparing an investigation into billionaire Elon Musk, with the Foreign Relations Committee sending him a letter to preserve documents relevant to the probe. The committee also sent letters to ports, banks, and private entities involved in Russian oil trade, while Musk's letter relates to the slowdown of the Starshield project in Ukraine. A Democratic aide called this a standard procedure to ensure records remain available, noting the letters do not imply wrongdoing. Democratic Senator Chris Coons will chair the committee from January 2027. Ukraine complained in late October about Starlink speed restrictions, which Musk initially blamed on the U.S. government, though the White House and Pentagon denied this.
