Democratic Veterans Target Hegseth for Impeachment
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth faces potential impeachment threats from a growing Democratic majority in Congress, including several newly elected military veterans, following his combative response to calls for his resignation. Democratic Rep. Jason Crow, an Army Ranger veteran, has pledged to be "relentless" in removing Hegseth, citing incompetence and corruption. Retired Army Major Richard Ojeda, who flipped a North Carolina seat, called Hegseth a "war criminal" and endorsed impeachment. Retired Navy Admiral Nancy Lacore, fired by Hegseth after 35 years of service, will join Congress and could vote on his fate. Outgoing Rep. Thomas Massie plans to introduce impeachment articles next week, with some Republicans also criticizing Hegseth's performance.
