Oil prices rise as Trump rejects Iran peace deal

hotnews.ro (Romanian) —

Brent crude oil prices surpassed $105 per barrel on Monday after President Trump rejected Iran's peace proposal, while Houthi attacks continue to threaten Middle East supply routes. Brent futures rose 1.27% to $105.64, with West Texas Intermediate up 0.76% to $93.11. Iran presented a peace plan at the UN General Assembly last week, transmitted through Qatari mediators, but Trump rejected it Saturday while expecting further US-Iranian talks this week. Houthi forces launched missiles and drones at Saudi Arabia, which intercepted two ballistic missiles and two drones. Middle East crude exports recovered to 12.8 million barrels per day in September, the highest since the war began, with shipments through the Strait of Hormuz rebounding to 7.4 million barrels daily. US diesel export restrictions are also being debated amid record domestic prices.
