Milan stocks flat; Amplifon, Stellantis, Eni lead gains
Milan's stock exchange erased its gains after three and a half hours of trading, with the FTSE Mib index up just 0.02% at 51,877 points. The spread between Italian and German bonds rose to 94.7 points, with Italy's annual yield climbing 7.6 points to 4.58%, a new high since November 2023. Amplifon led gains at +5.3% following a Barclays report on healthcare sector prospects, while Stellantis rose 2.18% and Eni gained 1.43% on the first day of a fuel price cap. Oil prices surged, with WTI up 4.32% to $96.4 per barrel and Brent up 4.2% to $108.7, while gas rose 2.9% to €74.17 per MWh. Decliners included Tim at -1.48% in its first session after Poste's takeover closed Friday, controlling 85.82% of capital, with Inwit, Avio, and Fincantieri also weak. Banks traded mixed, while Maire jumped 2.73% on a US design contract announced under its Argent LNG agreement.
