India to continue diesel exports despite possible US ban amid tightening global fuel market
India will honor its diesel export contracts despite a possible US export ban, Oil Minister Hardeep Puri confirmed, as global diesel markets tighten amid geopolitical conflicts and record US pump prices. India, now the second-largest seaborne diesel exporter and top supplier after the US with about 10% of global shipments, has no plans to restrict overseas sales. Puri cited expanded refining capacity and commitments like Indian Oil's five-year Mauritius deal as reasons to maintain trust. The US is studying restrictions to lower domestic prices, which the EU has flagged as a concern. India, with 5.4 million barrels per day refining capacity, will keep investing in refining and attract interest from Saudi Aramco and ADNOC.
