Global market cues to watch for Indian trade on September 29
Indian benchmark indices are expected to open flat on September 29, tracking GIFT Nifty around 22,834, following a weak previous session where the Nifty fell below 22,800 amid broad selling. On September 28, foreign institutional investors sold equities worth over Rs 5,300 crore for a third straight day, while domestic institutional investors bought around Rs 5,189 crore. Global cues remain mixed, with Asian markets falling, US stocks slipping, and crude oil prices rising. The Sensex closed down 1.52 percent at 72,771.72, and the Nifty fell 1.56 percent to 22,780.25, extending a seven-week losing streak. Elevated oil prices, higher bond yields, and geopolitical uncertainty following a US-Iran peace talk stalemate weighed on sentiment.
