Tesla Roadster returns with four versions, including a flying Rocket model
Tesla unveiled four versions of its new Roadster, including a limited "Rocket" variant with thrusters capable of brief flight, achieving 0-60 mph in 0.59 seconds. The standard model starts with 1,073 horsepower and a 210 mph top speed. All versions feature a carbon body, rear-wheel drive, 310-320 miles of range, and 500kW charging for a 15-80% charge in under 15 minutes. The Performance model adds ground-effect fans, while the Thrust version uses a 200-litre air tank for a sub-one-second 0-60 mph sprint, though the tank empties in six seconds. The Rocket variant replaces the passenger seat with a 400-litre tank and six extra thrusters for stopping, turning, and vertical lift, enabling controlled flight. Tesla estimates its 0-60 mph time at 0.59 seconds, with pricing expected to vary by millions across versions.
